It is our pleasure to introduce to you a program that has the potential to change the lives of learning children in our disadvantaged schools. We have started a program called Nankumntwana Adopt a learning child program and we would like to introduce it to you.
Nankumntwana Adopt a Learning Child is a program that avails you an opportunity to adopt a learning child from our disadvantaged schools and attempt to change their self-proclaimed low self-belief, inculcate an attitude of strong achievement and success, teach principles of gratitude and giving and become a sponsor for his/her education by providing for school fees for the annum, uniform, tutoring services and/or stationery/books or anything that will assist the child at being motivated to go to school and experience school life to its fullness.
The program started operating in June 2011 and was formally registered as an NPO in October 2012. We have a total of 67 vulnerable learning children in our database which have been assessed and recommended by social workers and caregivers that are employed and allocated to the two schools that we are working with, Charles Duna Primary School and BJ Mnyanda Primary School in Port Elizabeth.
This is an opportunity for you to do your little bit and contribute towards creating leaders from our disadvantaged youth.
